| I am quite lucky as Russ' work hours are 7 days a week 12 hours per day and then the following 7 days he has off ... SO its like every other week he has a holiday!! This time of year though he works about 4 days of the ones he is supposed to have off as overtime for extra money Now that Bob is at pre school we tend to go for a coffee or stroll around the town kid free! Of an evening we make sure we have quality time together ... Bob goes to bed at 8pm and Bethany has to go to her room at the same time and she has her own virgin box/lap top etc ... plus she reads etc and then its lights out at 9pm ... this gives us the time together every night. On special occasions we will have my mum over to babysit and go out to the cinema/restaurant Its not as much as we used to have but its still lovely to have that time x | |

| You seem to have it figured out well. I like the way you have the kids in a routine thus allowing you guys to spend time togteher. We used to spend sundays mondays together, however Umer works nights and l work part time during the days. He was woing 5 nights, but to try and have some savings and fr extra money he is now working 6 nights, so the only time l get to ee him is on Monday. However mondays l work 8m - 8pn, so when l get in from work, shower, eat, change etc etc l am soo tired and tuesda gott abe up at 7am as l start work at 8am. Monday is the only time we sleep in the bed at the sametime, unless l nip in next to him during the day if Daniyah is napping. | |

| aww bless it is so hard hunny ... I have always believed in set bedtimes for the kids as I think it important that you have couple time my brother was the total opposite he had 4 under the age of 6 at one point and they used to ran around the house like hooligans and he would sometimes go up stairs to find that a couple of them had fallen asleep through tiredness across the landing WTF?! I think kids need routine .. they need there sleep but everyone is different I guess x | |

| l totally agree wiv you. Routine is soo important. I'm glad l have Daniyah into a good routine { during the night}. I remmeber in my last months of pregnancy a lady came to visit me {friend of hubby's friend}, her daughter is now 7 months and she was rather negative saying things like your life will totally change, for the 1st year you cant rest, its just very stressful as goes through alot and how her daughter dosnt sleep through the night and every 4 hours wakes up and so many other things. Anyhow she came to visit me and she was surprised that Daniyah was sleepig and when Daniyah woke up she was playing by herself whilst l was cooking or something like that. Her daughter didnt stop screaming he second they stepped foot hrough the front door. What l later came to find out is that she hsa no routine for her daught, she goes cinema at 10pm and returnat 3am d does all sorts and her daughter has no routine, is incredibly demanding and in front of me the only way she was able to make mquiet was by giving her a hard look and that only worked for few seconds. And there she was trying to scare me about motherhood even beforemy daughter was out. | |

We didnt even have a honeymoon xx we manage maybe once or twice a year, only for a night, leave them at teatime and come back in the morning. i think it will change once is here tho - cos it will be harder to find people to have them i think.xx

i kinda agree but a set routine does not fit into our life, like when i am at work i won't be able to collect kids from mil till after 8pm ( sometimes up till 10pm ) even tho they would normally go to bed at about 7.30!! i also like that if we wanna go out with the kids they are very adaptable to different bedtimes etc iykwim. having said that when i am at home i do try to have pretty strict bedtimes when i can.xxx

| I must admit that when we are out ie. firework night bob went to bed late and if we have people over or we over someone elses then all mine have been very adaptable which is a good thing x | |

] thats good, i would hate to have to be home for a certain time for kids bedtime - or on holiday etc, i know people who have such a strict routine that the bath bed by a certain time happens no matter wot!!!! i think thats why i didn't try to force a routine to begin with cos i was so horrified by how much it had taken over these familys lives.xxxx

| I agree ... its only the bedtimes .. I mean sometimes they are a little late in going ie. 15 mins or so but with the full on routine with actual times set for bath dinner etc nahhh you just cant do it I think! | |
